ABOUT THE FOOD COACH UGANDA

Nutrition knowledge that helps families, communities, and institutions make healthier choices.

The Food Coach Uganda is an emerging nutrition-led organization helping individuals, families, communities, schools, institutions, and partners improve health and wellbeing through practical nutrition education, personal nutrition coaching, malnutrition prevention, food security support, and community-based livelihood solutions.

A practical, local, and community-aware approach

We combine nutrition education, personal support, food security awareness, and institutional collaboration so that healthy living becomes understandable, realistic, and sustainable.

Focus areas: nutrition education, wellness support, community outreach, food security, and institutional partnerships.

WHO WE ARE

An emerging hybrid nutrition-led organization for Uganda’s health and food security needs.

The Food Coach Uganda exists to respond to real nutrition challenges affecting households, schools, communities, and institutions. We promote locally relevant nutrition education, practical food choices, healthy lifestyle support, food security awareness, and community-based solutions that people can understand and apply in daily life.

Our Mission

To combat malnutrition and improve health outcomes by empowering individuals, families, and communities with practical nutrition knowledge, food security solutions, livelihood support, and locally driven health promotion interventions.

Our Vision

A well-nourished, healthy, and food-secure Uganda free from all forms of malnutrition.

OUR CORE VALUES

The principles guiding how we serve people and communities.

Nutrition work requires trust, dignity, practicality, and accountability. These values shape how The Food Coach Uganda supports families, institutions, and communities.

Compassion

We serve people with dignity, care, and respect, recognizing that nutrition challenges are often linked to difficult household, health, and livelihood realities.

Practical Nutrition

We promote food and health solutions that people can understand, afford, and apply using local foods, household realities, cultural habits, and daily routines.

Community Ownership

We work with communities, not above them, because sustainable nutrition change happens when people participate in identifying problems, shaping solutions, and sustaining progress.

Evidence-Based Practice

We use nutrition knowledge, field learning, and data to guide our work, combining professional understanding with practical community experience.

Integrity

We build trust through honesty, accountability, transparency, and responsible service to families, institutions, communities, partners, and future funders.

Sustainability

We promote solutions that can continue beyond one campaign, donation, or short-term project, supporting household resilience and long-term community wellbeing.

Inclusion

We design our work with consideration for children, adolescents, mothers, elderly persons, people with disabilities, vulnerable households, and underserved communities.

OUR APPROACH

Practical support built around local realities.

Instead of treating nutrition as a one-time message, The Food Coach Uganda promotes continuous learning, practical action, follow-up, and community ownership. Our approach is built around locally available foods, culturally appropriate practices, household realities, and evidence-informed nutrition guidance.

  • Nutrition education that is simple, practical, and locally relevant.
  • Personal nutrition coaching for individuals, families, and groups.
  • Community outreach for malnutrition prevention and healthier living.
  • Food security and livelihood linkages such as kitchen garden education.
  • Partnership support for schools, NGOs, companies, churches, and institutions.
